Frequently Asked Questions
How is time allocated?
We allow guests to arrive up to 15 minutes prior to the recording date to account for sound checks, set dressing and lighting adjustments. Guest will also be provided with an additional 15 minutes post-recording to account for file transfer times. Rentals are rated by 1 hour blocks with a minimum booking of 1 hour.
What should I expect when I arrive?
One of our studio technicians will be available to greet you and help set up the set, conduct sound checks and set the lighting. Please arrive a maximum of 15 minutes prior to your recording, for more complicated set-ups we are happy to discuss the details prior to your arrival to ensure a smooth session. The technician will be available for the entirety of your session and will operate any and all studio equipment so you can be hands and worry-free.
How many guests can the studio accommodate?
We can accommodate up to 3 seated guests comfortably though up to 5 can fit if seated close together in a circular layoutAre food, drinks and/or pets allowed?
We welcome beverages that have secure lids, food and pets may be allowed on a case by case basis with a $75 cleaning security deposit.
How will I receive my recording files?
Audio only recordings download links can be provided within 1 hour from the end of the recording. For any and all video recordings we require guests to provide an external storage device for transfers. Downloads are not currently available for video recordings.
How much free space will be required for my recording files?
Typically a 1 hour audio recording may require up to 3gb of free space. 4K single cam recording may require up to 50 gb per hour with multi-cam recordings potentially requiring up to 150 gb per hour.
What format will my recordings come in?
All audio files will be provided on separate tracks for each mic as well as a mixed stereo track. Tracks will be in WAV format at 24 bits 48 hertz.
All video files will be shot on Sony FX3 cameras in XAVC-S, MP4 format with no LUTs applied by default.
What are the set and background options?
In addition to the brick wall background we also have a black velvet curtain option or the use of our white or green screen. A round conference table is available if requested. We have numerous sources of lighting and colored LEDS for various options.
What is the cancellation/re-scheduling policy?
You can cancel your booking and receive a full refund, provided that you reach out and receive confirmation by our staff with at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time of your booking. Re-scheduling is allowed with 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time with no penalty, any re-scheduling requests within 24 hours of your start time will incur a 30 percent re-scheduling fee.
